Westchester-Based Outfit, The Everafter, On Tour After New EP - "Where I Came From"

Christopher Vasquez August 9, 2019

Four-piece outfit, The Everafter, have kept summer 19 on blast with the release of their new EP, “Where I Came From,” this spring.

A melodic, tender-thrashing and punk-infused record, The Eveafter have taken their electrifying sound on tour this summer with performances across local and regional venues/bars; most notably, The Everafter’s current USA/Canada tour with Radiate and Rival Town.

Consisting of lead vocalist Cara Small, bassist Rich Rivera, lead guitarist Ryan Lare and kick-ass drummer Danny Nugent, The Everafter released their debut single/video, “Call It A Night,” in 2018 as part of their freshman EP “Whatever’s Bringing You Down.”

Along with their one-off single, “Perspectives,” the band is heavily active in the Westchester alt/punk-rock music scene - during a time where the genre continues to grow and reinvent itself with more independent bands touring and recording music..

The Everafter "As We Were" is from the EP, "Where I Came From" OUT NOW. Shot and Directed by Tom Flynn. © 2019 The Everafter Special thanks to the Southold Free Library.

With a high-velocity sound, immense attitude and sweet, yet unapologetically bratty songwriting, The Everafter is one of the rising Westchester-based bands that’s worth noting and a brawling energy that’s only just heating up. Way more to come from this emerging powerhouse.

Stream, “Where I came From,” on your alt/rock playlist today and catch The Everafter tonight at Shakeout’s EP Release Show at Rudy’s in Hartsdale, NY.

Shakeout Releases New EP "Balance The Imbalance"

Christopher Vasquez August 2, 2019

New York-based alternative rock duo, Shakeout, have released their new EP, “Balance The Imbalance,” steaming now on all digital music platforms.

Shakeout’s even-track record is as unique, and complex, as their experimental approach to music - a sonic journey into the mind of one’s self and the balancing of all those emotions against constant friction.

Shakeout’s fourth EP explores themes such as anxiety (“40Mg”), clarity (“Heart”), fear, "(“No More Fear”) and self-reflection & balancing from their lead single “Take Time.” The duo’s emotional opus on “Temporary I and “Temporary II,” as well as their appetite for self-control on “Instincts,” illustrate Shakeout’s depth in their songwriting ability and their bold illusionary repertoire that allures listeners to envision a 4-piece band rather than a two-piece act.

Based in Yonkers, NY, Shakeout is a two-piece experimental rock band that has forged a complex sound through their influences of punk, alternative, pop and hip-hop. Their savvy songwriting approach has brought upon a multitude of sounds that attract fans and listeners from a wide-range of genres.

Formed in 2016 by musicians, A.J. Kay and A.J. Chiarella, Shakeout has primarily focused on music experimentation as their key approach to songwriting, and unique live performances, through their innovative style of creating the illusion of a four-piece band. Their appetite for using various sounds and instruments helps Shakeout to convey this sonic illusion by curating ear-decadent experiences for their audiences and listeners whether on stage or in studio.

Shakeout "Take Time" is from the EP "Balance the Imbalance," out August 2nd. Shot and Directed by Joe Kickbush. Edited by A.J. Kay.

The alt-rock duo released the records lead singles earlier this summer with “Take Time” and “Instincts,” receiving positive reviews from various indie-rock publications and features on alt-rock playlists on Spotify. Their music video to “Take Time” has garnered over 19k views since its release in June.

Shakeout will be performing their record release show at Rudy’s in Hartsdale, NY next week ,on August 9th, alongside local/regional pals The Everafter, Maintenance, Keep Flying and Cold Climb It.

Follow/listen to Shakeout today and add “Balance The Imbalance” to your weekend playlist!

You should be listening to Grace The Enemy.

This three-piece metal band from The Bronx is continuing to make waves across New York’s thriving metal core/punk rock scene with the release of their new single “Fade Away.”

Raw, aggressive and melodically pure, Grace The Enemy’s new song is a throbbing and kinetically charged composition that finds itself confined in all its sophistication.

Peggy Gou - Living In Her "Moment" As One of House's Rising Stars

Christopher Vasquez May 25, 2019

For all its back-yard parties, rooftop lounges and outdoor bars, there’s truly nothing like summertime in New York. With its longer days, hazy afternoons and sticky tar beaches one genre can easily fit the mood (depending on your preference of course): house music. And with house music, there is no other rising, up& coming star like Peggy Gou.

The Korean-born/Berlin-based producer has risen quickly over the past several years, with the release of 4 EPs, various singles and live performances spanning across some of the globes hottest clubs, beach houses and warehouse parties.

The Dance phenom is well verse in the breezy-electric (“Han Jan”) and tropical disco house (“It Makes You Forget [Itgehane]”) genre that had made a name for herself off her 2018 EP “Once.”

2019’s, “Moment,” picks up where Gou left off. Her song, “Starry Night,” provides club-goers with deep piano vibes, a bold on-cue clap and smooth vocals. While on, “Han Pan,” Gou revives the classic late 80’s freestyle sound with a tropical vocal and refined baseline.

With Memorial Day weekend in full swing, it’s almost fitting to share Peggy Gou’s “moment” on your playlist. Catch her music in a club and city near you. Let those long summer nights roll on!
